Storage trends 2016: Storage priorities, cloud appliances and NAS vs object storage

Computer Weekly keeps its finger on the pulse in the world of data storage, with regular news, features and practical articles. This guide offers a collection of our most popular articles on storage-related issues from the first few months of 2016. In the Computer Weekly IT priorities survey, readers tell us cloud is top of the IT departments’ to-do list, while storage and backup for virtualised environments is still a key priority. Meanwhile, we look at the growing market for cloud storage appliances, on-site hardware that helps overcome some potential shortcomings of working with the cloud. Finally, we examine the suitability of NAS and object storage for large volumes of unstructured data, asking which works best in what circumstances.
