Reactive Spring
By:
Type: Talk
Microservices and big data increasingly confront us with the limitations of traditional input/output. In traditional IO, work that is IO-bound dominates threads. This wouldn't be such a big deal if we could add more threads cheaply, but threads are expensive on the JVM, and most other platforms. Even if threads were cheap and infinitely scalable, we'd still be confronted with the faulty nature of networks. Things break, and they often do so in subtle but non-exceptional ways. Traditional approaches to integration bury the faulty nature of networks behind overly simplifying abstractions. We need something better. Spring Framework 5 is here! It introduces the Spring developer to a growing world of support for reactive programming across the Spring portfolio, starting with a new Netty-based web runtime, component model and module called Spring WebFlux, and then continuing to Spring Data Kay, Spring Security 5.0, Spring Boot 2.0 and Spring Cloud Finchley. Sure, it sounds like a lot, but don't worry! Join me, your guide, Spring developer advocate Josh Long, and we'll explore the wacky, wonderful world of Reactive Spring together.

Digital Twin v Digital Thread - Untangling the Confusion in A and D
By:
Type: Talk
Digital Twin vs. Digital Thread: Untangling the Confusion in Aerospace and Defense The adoption of Digital Engineering is at the heart of digital transformation efforts within the global aerospace and defense industry. This transformation sees businesses and government agencies attempting to seamlessly integrate legacy, contemporary, and emerging technologies to deliver better capabilities faster and more efficiently. Two concepts dominate this industry landscape: digital twin and digital thread. The Digital Twin seeks to enable efficiencies and insights into systems by connecting the physical and virtual worlds. The Digital Thread promises to create a single source of truth for a system across its entire lifecycle. Some view these concepts as independent efforts while others do not—many have yet to form an opinion. In this webinar, our Aerospace and Defense Working Group chairs will: - Discuss the government, industry, and technological considerations for employment of these two concepts - Offer a perspective on the inextricable link between Digital Twin and Digital Thread initiatives, and - Articulate the DTC’s efforts to eliminate confusion, foster collaboration, and accelerate the adoption of Digital Twins in Aerospace and Defense and other industries

Threat Correlation from Laptop to Cloud
By:
Type: Video
The golden thread ties rich security data across your developer laptops, source code repositories, identity providers, and into your cloud infrastructure - all within a single platform and data model. This correlation across attack surfaces serves as an early warning system to protect your environment before it’s too late. When a threat actor compromises a laptop or source code repository as an entry point, reducing time to detection is vital to carving out malicious files and blocking further lateral movement. With Uptycs support for SaaS (Github) and identity (Okta) providers, coverage is extended across the entire development lifecycle to provide end to end detection from laptop to cloud. Join Crystal Poenisch, Senior PMM for Cloud Security, and Andre Rall, Director of Cloud Security, to learn how to weave the golden thread throughout your environment and identify malicious activity early. Together, we’ll walk through a golden thread that correlates a hacker's activity from a developer's laptop as they enumerate credentials and continue hunting for crown jewels through Github, Okta, and eventually AWS.
