2006 Global Information Security Workforce Study

On behalf of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2, IDC was engaged for the third consecutive year to provide detailed insight into the important trends and opportunities emerging in the information security profession worldwide. The electronic survey was conducted via a Web-based portal, where 4,016 respondents from companies and public sector organizations around the globe offered their opinions about the information security profession in which they are employed. Topics covered in the survey range from the amount of information security education and training received to the value of certifications to new areas where additional training is required.
